Job Introduction
Job Title: Technical Business Analyst
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid based in Warrington
Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week
So…. What is this role exactly?
Due to growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to join Your Housing Group's well established, collaborative Data and Business Intelligence team.
We’re continuing to evolve our data capabilities and governance frameworks—so it’s a great time to be part of the journey. At your disposal will be the latest technologies (ie Collibra) and you’ll be able to draw on the collective knowledge and expertise of a talented Data and BI team.
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about data, thrives on technical analysis, and takes pride in delivering high-quality solutions that support business strategy and decision-making.
What will my working week look like?
You will be homebased, living within the North West, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses when needed. Realistically, you will be required to visit our Head Office 1-2 times a week
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you’ll work closely with a wide range of business areas and stakeholders to capture and translate data requirements into technical specifications, supporting solution design and data modelling.
You will also, in partnership with the wider Data & BI team complete wire frames, mock- ups, validate and test proposed solutions, and ensure accurate completion and recording of all documentation required.
One of the great things about this role is the opportunity to carry out business wide data discovery, build prototype datasets, and support data governance and quality initiatives across YHG’s core systems and data warehouse.
You’ll also contribute to the development of reports, perform ad-hoc data analysis, and help catalogue data assets and terminology in our governance platforms.
And what would make me stand out from the crowd?
To be successful as a Technical Business Analyst here at YHG, you will have:
• Proven experience in business and data analysis, including interrogation of databases
• Proficiency in T-SQL and working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and metadata documentation
• Understanding of relational databases, ETL/ELT processes, and APIs
• Familiarity with GDPR and data protection regulations
• A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent, plus relevant professional certifications
• Experience working within the Housing or property sector, or within another regulated industry
Ideally, you will be
• A collaborative team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passionate about data & business intelligence, with a drive to create solutions that deliver real value
• Comfortable translating complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A champion of data literacy and governance, eager to promote best practices and help shape a data-driven culture across the organisation.
This role is really suited to someone who enjoys working with data in a hands-on way, has a keen eye for detail, and values consistency and process adherence. This role also offers genuine progression opportunities—whether you’re looking to deepen your technical expertise in cloud-based data tools, insights or predictive analytics, or data governance and strategy.
If you feel this could be the right role for you, we would love to hear from you!
That all sounds great, what’s in it for me?
In return we offer £55,000 – £60,000 for a 35-hour week, and 25 days annual leave (holidays also increase with time served) plus Bank Holidays, but our employee offering provides much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance.
At #TeamYHG we measure performance on outputs and quality, not hours and minutes. We offer a flexible, homeworking culture where you’re trusted to get the job done. If you need time for an appointment, the school run or an exercise class, if it fits with business needs, we’re open to what works for you too. And when you need to collaborate with your team, you can visit Youggle House – our purpose-built collaboration, wellbeing, and social space in Birchwood, Warrington.
On top of this, we’ll provide you with a great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you choose to contribute (up to 8%), an advanced level Healthcare cash plan through Medicash, that doesn’t just provide dental and optician cashback but also health and wellbeing benefits (such as 24/7 GP Access, money back from prescriptions and alternative therapy treatments) and an amazing discount scheme that gives you access to half price cinema tickets, subsidised gym memberships and a huge range of discounts with some of the biggest high street and online names.
