Salary:                   £45,000 to £49,000

Contract:               Permanent

Location:               Homebased Northwest

Weekly Hours:      35 Hours

So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for an ICT Applications Team Lead to join our ICT Service Delivery team and continue developing both their IT and management career within a business that values flexibility and offers home working.

You’ll play a key role in leading and evolving our Application Support Specialists, working alongside a wider Service Delivery team recently shortlisted for an Outstanding Team Award at this year’s Colleague Awards!

We’re looking for someone who shares our passion for delivering a first-class ICT support service and is committed to ensuring customer excellence across everything we do.

What will my working week look like?

This is a home-based role, ideal for someone living in the Northwest and within reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington. While most of your work will be remote, you’ll be expected to attend meetings, training sessions, and carry out ICT management duties at Head Office as and when required.

You will lead a team of ICT Application Support Specialists, dedicating time to mentor and support their development. You’ll focus on building a high-performing team that consistently delivers exceptional service to our ICT customers. By effectively managing the team’s workload, you’ll ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) and service standards are consistently met. Collaboration will be key, as you’ll work closely with other ICT teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold service excellence across the department.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you’ll lead the ICT Application Support Specialists in delivering an effective and efficient ICT support function, focusing on measuring outputs and driving continuous improvements in service delivery.  You will bring with you an in-depth technical understanding of application support and maintenance along with a broad understanding of the wider IT disciplines (infrastructure servers, networking, data storage, Project Management, ITIL etc) and how these functions come together to achieve a common goal. You will possess in-depth knowledge and experience of a wide range of applications and how they interface together.

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

To be successful as an ICT Applications Team Lead at YHG, you’ll bring proven experience leading an Application Support Specialist team within a multi-disciplinary environment. You’ll be a strong, customer-focused leader who drives performance, embraces Agile and DevOps ways of working, and confidently manages competing priorities. With solid technical knowledge across enterprise applications, integrations, and cloud platforms, you’ll play a key role in delivering change and continuously improving service outcomes across the business.

You’ll take a proactive approach to mentoring and developing your team, with the confidence to lead change and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Strong customer focus and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels are essential, alongside a practical mindset that seeks to streamline processes and maximise the effectiveness of the business application team.

That all sounds great, what’s in it for me?

In return we offer £45,000 - £49,000 for a 35-hour week, and 25 days annual leave (holidays also increase with time served) plus Bank Holidays, but our employee offering provides much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance.

At #TeamYHG we measure performance on outputs and quality, not hours and minutes. We offer a flexible, homeworking culture where you’re trusted to get the job done.  If you need time for an appointment, the school run or an exercise class, if it fits with business needs, we’re open to what works for you too. And when you need to collaborate with your team, you can visit Youggle House – our purpose-built collaboration, wellbeing, and social space in Birchwood, Warrington.

On top of this, we’ll provide you with a great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you choose to contribute (up to 8%), an advanced level Healthcare cash plan through BHSF, that doesn’t just provide dental and optician cashback but also health and wellbeing benefits (such as 24/7 GP Access, money back from prescriptions and alternative therapy treatments) and an amazing discount scheme that gives you access to half price cinema tickets, subsidised gym memberships and a huge range of discounts with some of the biggest high street and online names.
