Are you looking more than an admin role? Do you want to help make a difference in young people’s lives?

This is an exciting opportunity for a full time, permanent Receptionist and Admin Officer based at our Bridge Foyer supported accommodation scheme for 16-25 year olds in Chester, CH1 4JR.

The scheme offers 24 hours support, guidance and learning opportunities to the young people who live there.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will provide a reception service for the Scheme, providing administrative support and be the first point of contact for residents, visitors, internal/external partners and colleagues.  You will be required to provide an administrative and support service for the staff team.

You will have strong administrative skills, be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft office products and be organised. You must have the ability to relate well to young people from a wide variety of backgrounds, an understanding of the needs of the client group and the ability to deliver services within the Your Housing Group values.

A flexible approach is essential within the team whilst ensuring that the highest standard of service is provided at all times.

You will oversee the reporting of property repairs, provide administrative and clerical support to the team, including collating data, minutes and note taking, keeping accurate records, maintain our filing system, deal with banking, and follow financial procedures. 

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

In addition to being able to relate to our vulnerable residents with empathy, if you have an understanding of safeguarding risks regarding young people or experience working with young people, that would be an advantage. 

You will……

  • have excellent customer service skills
  • be organised, able to work unsupervised, using your initiative to manage your work
  • be comfortable with a wide variety of PC packages (ie Microsoft)
  • have an eye for detail, working accurately with figures and record keeping
