This is an exciting opportunity for an Accommodation & Support Officer at Coops Foyer, Wigan.
Coops Foyer is accredited with the Foyer Federation, which means we take an asset-based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do; encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big and fulfil their ambitions!
We are looking for an Accommodation & Support Officer who is as passionate about this as us.
What will my working week look like?
An Accommodation & Support Officer works a 35hr week, Monday-Friday negotiable hours between 8am-8pm. These can be flexible to suit the right candidate but a level of flexibility is also expected in order to deliver the role around times that meet the needs of the young people in the Foyer.
What will I be responsible for doing?
The role of the accommodation and support officer is to ensure that a comprehensive supported housing management service is delivered at the Foyer. The role requires organisation and time management skills and a person who can adapt to the changing and varied needs of the young people. The role holds responsibility for the application process through the housing gateway, managing voids, licence fee payments, housing benefit payments and advising young people on housing and welfare matters.
One of the great things about this role is making a real difference in a young person’s life and addressing the potential threat of homelessness a young person my be at risk of, assisting them in their journey to independence.
