What is this role exactly?
We have an exciting opportunity for Tree Surveyor to carry out a tree survey covering around 600 sites in Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Staffordshire. You will be travelling around these areas on a daily basis, therefore, you’re required to have access to your own vehicle (business mileage is reimbursed) and live within the North West.
What will I be responsible for doing?
As a Tree Surveyor, you will utilise your Arboricultural qualification, demonstrating your skills and experience providing an efficient Tree Surveying service.
You’ll be…
- providing specialist tree advice on a wide range of issues including, tree risk assessments, post-subsidence assessment, assessment of tree stability, woodland management and diagnosis of tree disease and ill-health.
- maintaining and updating the spatial Tree Stock Inventory on the teams’ GIS project
- investigating tree related enquires and complaints received from our customers and neighbours
- undertaking Health and Safety Tree Surveys, Visual Tree Assessments (VTA)
- aware and have an understanding of Tree Preservation Orders and Legislation and be able to Process planning and other statutory applications
- advising on dangerous structures and make recommendations for any programmed/emergency works required
- providing reports and technical support to colleagues and customers
- issuing and monitor instructions in relation to arboriculture works to contractors and Manage the performance and quality of works carried out by the service providers

What would make me stand out from the crowd?
Ideally you will have a Foundation Degree in arboricultural Level 5 or equivalent, and an ROSPA Inspection Certificate. You’ll also have knowledge of bat legislation, tree risk assessments and knowledge of social housing
