So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer (Support Worker) at our homeless lodge in St Helens for a fixed term basis to cover Maternity leave.

As Project officer you will be supporting vulnerable adults and families to improve their outlook and empower them to move on successfully to an independent tenancy.  You will meet a wide variety of people and will make a real difference to customer’s lives.

Pennington Lodge offers temporary accommodation to adults and families who find themselves homeless for a range of reasons. We offer 24hr staff support in a secure and safe environment. Project Officers have a caseload and provide key work 121 support. A large part of the role is lone-working and would require you to work under your own initiative.

What will my working week look like? 

This is a full-time role based on a 10 day working rota.  Project Officers work 12.5 hour shifts in blocks of 4. Working with 2 days (07.45 to 20.15), then 2 waking nights (19.45 to 08.15) and then 6 days off - for example:

Monday & Tuesday 07.45 to 20.15; Wednesday & Thursday 19.45 to 08.15; then off rota for 6 days back on shift following Thursday 07.45 to 20.15

What will I be responsible for doing?

As a Project Officer you will play a key role in supporting residents to help them achieve their goals and move on successfully to independent tenancies. You will do this by building strong working relationships and creating family centred, holistic support packages.

One of the great things about this role is the positive impact you will make to our customers lives and the genuine improvements you will make to their situations.

You will be part of a busy office environment and will have administrative duties. There are also some general housekeeping tasks.

Additions

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and will require the post holder to carry out ‘Regulated Activity’ as defined under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. Therefore, as part of Your Housing Group’s pre-employment checks, successful applicants will be required to complete a satisfactory Enhanced DBS with barred list(s) check.
