Job Title:                  Cantonese Speaking Scheme Manager/Support Officer

Salary:                      Circa £20,000

Contract:                  Permanent

Location:                  Faulkner Court, Manchester City Centre

Weekly Hours:         35 hours per week

So…. What is this role exactly?

We have as an exciting opportunity for a Scheme Manager / Support Worker working between 2 sites in Manchester city centre China town at Faulkner court M1 4EE and Canal Court M1 3EZ working within our sheltered housing team for the elder Chinese community. As you will be working with the Chinese community day to day you will need to be fluent in cantonese both written and spoken.

What will my working week look like? 

Working Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm Based at Faulkner court with regular visits to Canal court

What will I be responsible for doing?

You’ll be supporting with referrals and housing applications, assisting our customers to stay safe, and ensuring we provide high quality customer services. Completing compliance and Health and safety checks for both the communal areas and residents’ properties.   Providing translation both written and spoken for our customers and other departments.

 Be Fluent in Cantonise and English both written and spoken

Have a good working knowledge of IT and Microsoft systems

  • Have Excellent   communication skills and a truly “people person”
  • Have a good understanding of the issues faced by older people
  • Have strong organisational and problem-solving skills
