Your Housing Group have a new opening for a Senior Technical & Design Manager

Its due to this growth in the delivery of new homes, that has led to a requirement for a Senior Technical & Design Manager within the Development team. Reporting into the Director of New business you will be the Groups subject matter expert for all technical requirements within both pre-development and construction phases of build and will ensure that contractors and specialist consultants deliver to Your Housing Group’s required build standards.

The Senior Technical & Design Manager will be the main liaison with our external design partners (architecture/utilities etc) and will advise and manage the design requirements and standards with those partners. This role will also see you take the lead in coordinating all technical and design related matters with a wide range of internal and external project stakeholders (Local authorities, Homes England, planners, highways etc).  Due to this, you will have a high level of accountability for each pre-development and construction project, providing ground, structural and service design solutions along with the necessary design approvals, and site & land-based testing requirements including all supporting technical documentation.

As this is a senior role within the Development team, the Senior Technical & Design Manager will need to be confident and competent providing strategic and operational guidance to all stakeholders within a Development Programme, including the appointed Development Partners for the build, the Director of Development, Director of New Business and Project Managers. You will also be required to report and present at board level on build project status, risk and budget management.

Ideally, you will have worked as a Senior Technical Manager or Consultant and will have a proven background with a recognised housebuilder, along with knowledge of modern methods within housing or construction. Commercially bias, with a future focus, you will be a leader who facilitates results through others.  Due to the technical requirements of this role we would expect candidates to be degree qualified in a relevant field (civils, construction, structural, etc) and possess membership of a property-related professional body (RICS, RTPI, RIBA)

In return, we offer a competitive Salary of £60,000 - £75,000, 9/10% car allowance, AGILE/Flexible working, contributory pension (matched to 8%), Private medical insurance (BUPA), health benefits cash scheme, 29 days holiday (26 contractual, 3 non-contractual), plus all bank holidays.
