This is an exciting opportunity for a part time Scheme Manager based at our over 55’s independent living scheme at Washington Close, Biddulph, ST8 6RW
It’s a great time to join our team here at Washington Close, where no two days are the same, giving you the opportunity to make a real difference to our residents by promoting independence, ensuring our residents are able to stay in their own home as long as possible.
What will my working week look like?
You’ll be working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm at Washington Close.
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will be responsible for keeping our residents safe, promoting their independence and ensuring their wellbeing, working with outside partnerships.
You will manage the Scheme’s waiting list, allocate properties, conduct interviews and carry out tenancy sign-ups.
You’ll also manage the health & safety compliance within the scheme, including building security, fire checks and inspections of communal areas, so that residents know they’re safe and secure.
One of the great things about this role is the real impact you can make on the lives of our older community. You will have the opportunity to shape, develop and improve the scheme, along with the independence to work with outside community groups to build partnerships.

To be a successful as Scheme Manager here at YHG, you will….
- be experienced in sheltered housing or housing related support services
- put residents at the heart of what you do and be focused on delivering excellent services with a ‘can do’ approach
- have a good knowledge of safeguarding and a good understanding of the issues faced by older people
- be computer literate including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
Ideally, you’ll have….
- great communication skills and be a truly “people person”
- strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- an ability to work alone and as part of a team
