So…. What is this role exactly?
This is an exciting time to join us, as our new look domestic abuse team has been in place for just over 12 months, and we’ve been awarded DAHA Bronze accreditation. We’re looking for a passionate Safeguarding and Domestic Abuse manager to build on our achievements. Reporting to the Service Manager for Safeguarding and Support, you’ll lead a dedicated team of Domestic Abuse Co-ordinators and support colleagues across the business with practical advice and help in understanding and managing safeguarding.
We are looking for an experienced manager with an in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and safeguarding good practice, and proven ability to manage a high performing team.
What will my working week look like?
You’ll work flexibly and be primarily based at home but with travel to our Head Office in Birchwood Warrington or other YHG sites or external meetings once or twice a week.
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will provide line management support to our team of Domestic Abuse Co-ordinators, ensuring high quality case management.
One of the great things about this role is that as well as supporting the team you’ll be our expert on domestic abuse and safeguarding with opportunities to work across a varied business and with external partners.
We’re looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and safeguarding who is a great communicator, comfortable with professional challenge where needed, who can provide expert advice and support to all levels of YHG and act as YHG lead on any local authority safeguarding or DHR reviews.

- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding and experience of advising others
- Experience of working collaboratively with external agencies to get positive results for customers, including experience of managing professional challenges and escalations.
