So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Roofer to join Your Housing Groups Repairs and Maintenance Division and provide a high-quality Roofing repairs service to our customers.

What will my working week look like? 

You will live within your regional area of work in Wigan & Warrington and ideally be based within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training courses when needed.

What will I be responsible for doing?                                                             

As a member of our reactive maintenance and repairs team, you will carry out roofing maintenance on both major and minor construction works, for a number of empty homes and tenanted properties owned by Your Housing Group. You will be confident and capable, ensuring all work undertaken is completed with due regard for quality, productivity, and safety.

Our organisation is all about people, especially the people who live in our homes and the communities that we serve and deliver excellent customer service too, so ideally you will be personable, professional, and able to understand the differing needs of the customers in our communities, tailoring your approach to meet that requirement to deliver a bespoke service.

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

To be a successful as a Roofer, here at YHG, ideally you will have…

•    Experience in construction or housing maintenance

•    A full UK Driving License (ideally no more than 6 points)

•    The ability and experience in the completion of all slate, tile, stone, ridge, verge and lead repair work to a high standard (EDPM Rubber Roofing/flat roof experience is desirable)

•    Basic health and safety knowledge in a repair’s environment

This role also offers genuine progression opportunities, many of our operatives go on to gain further qualifications or take up team leader, supervisory or secondment roles internally when they arise.
