So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Retirement Living Officer, based at Brookside’s Retirement Living Scheme (RLS) for the over 55’s in Ormskirk (L39 3BP).

We are looking for excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop good working relationships with customers, colleague and partners.

What will my working week look like? 

Your 28 hours will predominantly be Monday to Friday, between 8am and 8pm.   However, supporting our staff is one of our top priorities, therefore, you will also be working a Saturday or Sunday every 6 weeks, 8am to 12pm to be able to undertake 121’s with the weekend cleaner.  You’ll also work 3 late evenings every 6 weeks, finishing between 8pm to 10pm, to be able to undertake 121’s with the Night Supervisors. You’ll still be working a 28 hour week on these occasions. 

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be responsible for ensuring customer excellence is achieved, Scheme performance is maximised and we are meeting our number one business priority in keeping people safe.

You will provide cover for the reception area during periods covering colleague’s absences, therefore, flexibility is essential to ensure we meet the needs of our residents and the service we provide.

You’ll be self-motivated, enjoy working alone, managing your workload, ensuring excellent attention to detail.  

Ideally you will be an experienced people manager with good administration and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your busy workload.  You’ll also have excellent IT skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft (eg Word and Excel)

This role is really suited to someone who working with members of the public, particularly older people, whilst supporting your colleagues to ensure empty properties are swiftly re-let promptly undertaking lettings and property allocations.

Although you are based at Brookside you will have access to Youggle House – our wellbeing, social, collaboration and meeting space, you may be asked to travel to Youggle House to meet up with your wider team.

As part of our pre-employment checks, this role requires the successful applicant to complete a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
