So…. What is this role exactly?
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Rent & Service Charge Accountant to join our Finance Team.
The role sits with in the Rent & Service Charge Team and you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy of rents and services for both internal and external customers. The role will also support the preparation the annual rent and service charge budgets along with monthly management accounts for these areas.
We are looking for someone who enjoys a varied role working within a fast paced environment and is also keen to bring new ideas and ways of working to the team to support project work within the rent and service charge team.
What will my working week look like?
You will be homebased, living within the North West, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses. You’ll be required to visit our Head Office approximately 2 times a month and more frequently during peak times for rents and service charges.
What will I be responsible for doing?
You will be responsible for the monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for areas which sit with the Rent & Service Charge Team such as rental income and sinking fund balances along with supporting the annual budget setting process.
One of the great things about this role is that it will be varied with involvement in project work to improve processes to ensure accuracy of our rents and service charges for customers to being responsible for providing information to support with key business decisions.

To be a successful as Rent & Service Charge Accountant, here at YHG, you will have….
- Advanced Level Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge and understanding of Government Rent Standard and Service Charge Legislation
- Part or fully qualified member of a recognised accounting body (qualified by experience will also be considered)
Ideally you will
- Be a collaborative team player able to support team members in complex matters
- Knowledge of Orchard Housing and Open Accounts
