Salary Banding:  £19,580 - £24,575

Job Location:  North West Homebased

Contract Duration:  Permanent

Hours (weekly): 35 (Monday to Friday)

Your Housing Group has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Transaction Officer.  You will be homebased but will live within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training when required. 

As a Commercial Transaction Officer, you will be required to facilitate the Group’s Right to Buy and Right to Acquire sales, staircasing sales, and assignments.  You will be liaising with customers, internal colleagues, surveyors and solicitors, and providing advice and support on legal aspects of the Group’s landholdings, including site set up’s, disputes, boundary issues, deeds of variation, grant of easements, leases etc.

The Commercial Transaction Team provides a Group service to Your Housing Group’s internal and external customers; administering the sales process in respect of Shared Ownership Assignments (Re-Sales), Staircasing, Right to Buy, Right to Acquire and some land sales on behalf of the Group. 

You will be required to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with partners through which we deliver and receive services, ensuring they meet the needs of lease agreements, legislation and are good value for money e.g. valuers, Estate Agents, Solicitors etc.

It’s a given, as a Commercial Transaction Officer, you have experience in conveyancing, land ownership and property transactions and you have previously worked within a complex organisation, ideally in the charitable or public sector.

You will provide high quality, well-judged and informed advice on conveyancing, property transactions and Land Registry queries.  Naturally, you’ll be the “go-to” person for all land ownership and property transaction matters.  We will help you to develop knowledge of new areas of law, if required, to enable you to become an internal point of expertise.

As a Commercial Transaction Officer, you will have….

  • experience of maintaining positive working relationships with internal / external stakeholders
  • experience of facilitating the Right to Buy and Right to Acquire for a Registered Provider
  • excellent Customer Service Skills and attention to detail
  • the ability to interpret complex information e.g. leases and transfer agreements
  • knowledge of leasehold legislation in particular Landlord and Tenant Acts 1985 / 1987 and Common hold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
  • fantastic customer service skills
