So…. What is this role exactly?
This is an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to join our Repairs and Maintenance Improvement Team to deliver an exciting and challenging Programme focused on creating a more customer focused, streamlined and standardised ‘fit for the future’ service aligned to YHG strategy and values.
We are looking for a Programme Manager with a passion for what they do who is keen to work collaboratively with both members of the Repairs and Maintenance Team and wider YHG colleagues, including working closely with our colleagues in ICT to ensure service and system improvements are delivered to plan.
What will my working week look like?
You will be homebased, living within the Northwest, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses. You’ll be required to visit our Head Office approximately once a week.
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will have an instrumental role driving the effective delivery of our Repairs Service Improvement programme; ensuring objectives are met and leveraging your passion for change through supporting a customer focused repairs team to help to continually improve service standards and using evidence based decisions to drive process people and system transformation.
You will manage the Repair Programme delivery team and develop effective relationships across teams to ensure successful implementation of improvements including new and improved technology to ensure customer service improvements and other benefits are realised.
Working alongside the operational team and with repair colleagues you will support with delivering the repair improvement programme; ensuring the opportunities to improve the service are delivered and sustained. You will support with continuing our success by being customer and data focused, mixing tried and tested and new ways of working and trialling new approaches, to continue to deliver our repair improvements.
You will work with customers and colleagues alike to ensure the service benefits customers and staff, and ensure you exhibit behaviours are aligned to YHGs Confident and able to work with and influence with peers and managers, external partners and customers you will have the opportunity to showcase your organisation and communication skills.

To be a successful as Programme Manager here at YHG, you will have a solid Programme Management background with experience of delivering business value through driving digital, data, people and process change. You will be delivery and data focused and not afraid to challenge the status quo. You must have outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills with a high level of emotional intelligence. You will have the qualifications to back up your experience and ideally have a formal qualification in programme or change management.
This role is really suited to someone that likes to have a high level of autonomy in their role. Is driven and passionate about overcoming challenges and delivering an outstanding service. Who is a collaborative team player, keen to get involved, with a genuine passion to add value within the PMO.
- You will be genuinely motivated to achieve results, have resilience and tact, demonstrable prior experience in a change and or programme management role, ideally in Housing or Repairs
- Experience of building, monitoring and maintaining constructive relationships with customers, peers and front-line teams
- Excellent communications skills and demonstrates the ability to share and give clear instructions to team colleagues.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle.
