Job Title: Procurement Officer

Salary Banding: £33,000 - £35,000

Job Location: North West

Contract: Permanent

Hours (weekly):  35 (Monday to Friday)

Are you looking for an opportunity to further your knowledge and experience within procurement and the public sector?   Do you want to be involved in a broad range of tenders and different categories of spend?

Your Housing Group has a genuinely exciting opportunity for a homebased Procurement Officer, to join a small and established Procurement team. What makes this role exciting? You will be given the opportunity to not only assist, but also lead on procurement activities, across several procurement categories, developing your existing Procurement experience.

As our Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery projects, which include carrying out request for quotations, mini-competitions and other tender processes, ensuring these contracts are procured well ahead of expiry, are PCR 2015 compliant and in line with the Groups Operational Standing Orders. 

It’s a given you will establish efficient and effective contracts, ensuring they deliver best value, drive performance, achieve the required quality, and support the aims and objectives of the Group.  You will also ensure savings are identified, contract documentation is signed and recorded within the Group’s Contract Register, and any procurement projects managed, are delivered to timeframes agreed with key stakeholders.

As our Procurement Officer, ideally you will have…..

  • previous procurement experience, with a range of categories
  • experience of running request for quotation, mini competitions, supporting other tender processes such as Open or Restricted procedures
  • experience of supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management; delivering cost savings and process efficiencies.
  • knowledge of UK Procurement Legislation (Public Contracts Regulations 2015)
  • the ability to work in a complex and changing environment
  • good working knowledge of contract law
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

You will be homebased, living within the North West, with regular travel to our Head Office/Collaboration Hub in Birchwood, Warrington (WA3 7QH)
