So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Private Rented Sector (PRS) Team Leader, to lead a small but dedicated fast paced and target driven, Private Rent Team.  You will lead the team in providing allocations and lettings, tenancy and housing management services to circa 500 private rent and rent to home buy properties across a number of purpose-built developments including one student housing scheme.

It’s an exciting time to join the team as we continue to grow with new properties being brought into management as a result of our new build development activity.

We are looking for a housing professional who is customer focussed with strong communication skills, who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues and other teams to provide the highest standards of service to our customers.  You will be resilient, well organised and able to lead a small team in delivering excellent lettings and tenancy management services.

What will my working week look like?

As Private Rent Team Leader, you will be homebased but travel regularly to our collaboration space in Birchwood, Warrington and sites in and around Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Warrington, Cheshire and Preston.

You will work 35 hours a week Monday to Friday predominately between the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm.  However, you will have the ability to work flexibly dependant upon the needs of the service.

First and foremost, you will be responsible for lettings performance and tenancy management services relating to Your Housing Group’s Private Rent property portfolio including circa 500 Private Rent and Intermediate Market Rent Properties and a small number of commercial leases.

You will proactively lead a small team of 4 colleagues ensuring all properties are let and managed effectively, following all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.  You will manage and report on a suite of key performance indicators relating to Private Rented properties.

One of the great things about this role is the real impact you can make on the lives of customers.  You will have the opportunity to shape, develop and improve the service, working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders.

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

To be a successful as Private Rent Team Leader, here at YHG, you will have…..

  • experience of delivering lettings and tenancy management services either in the private sector or within a housing association environment
  • good knowledge of private rent properties and associated legislation which governs how these properties are managed
  • experience of leading a team, with a demonstrable ability to meet targets in a performance focused environment
  • good budgetary management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (eg Word and Excel)

Ideally you will……

  • have a passion for delivering consistently high levels of customer service and making a positive difference to our customers lives
  • be well organised and a problem solver
