Are you looking for your next challenging role? Do you have experience handling your own litigation caseload?

Your Housing Group has two great opportunities for a Paralegal Case Handler to support the In-house Legal Disrepair team, defending litigated cases on behalf of the Group.

As a Paralegal, you will Support the Legal Disrepair Manager case handling a large volume workload, conducting litigation files with a technical and commercially sound judicial strategy.  You will be taking instructions from internal clients, giving legal advice, including obtaining evidence to achieve appropriate resolutions for the Group, therefore, you will be involved in all aspects of the litigation process ranging from small claims, fast track and multi-track value cases, working on specialised litigious claims.

Whilst, you will have the ability to prepare legal papers, court bundles for hearings, trials, and alternate dispute resolution, you don’t need to have a law degree to work as a Paralegal at Your Housing Group.  We are keen to have you on board if you are a great team player and willing to learn quickly.  It’s a given however that you’ll be able to prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure.  You’ll have good advocacy and client care skills and evidence of working to client guidelines.

If you……

  • have experience in civil litigation claims handling Claimant / Defendant as a legal file Handler
  • have a sound knowledge of relevant Housing legislation, statutory Instruments and the relevant legal systems
  • hold a suitable qualification eg CILEX/LPC or equivalent, or are working towards / willing to work towards a suitable qualification
  • have experience conducting contested litigation case work
  • knowledge of the litigation process / working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
  • have an ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions
  • have a high level of analytical, listening, verbal and written communication skills

This is a homebased role, however as our head office is in Birchwood, Warrington, you’ll need to live within a reasonable travelling distance to be able to attend meetings and training when required. 

You will also be expected to travel at short notice to represent Your Housing Group at the various geographical Courts across the across the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands, where Your Housing Group hold housing stock.
