Weekly Hours:  23.5 working shifts 10pm – 8am on a Rolling Rota Basis

Your Housing Group has a great opportunity for a Retirement Living Service (RLS) Night Worker based at Smithy Croft in Heald Green (SK8).

As our Night Worker, you’ll be working an average of 23.5hours per week on a 3 week rolling rota - working 10 hour shifts (10pm-8am) 2 nights per week for 2 weeks (20 hours per week) and then the third week working (10pm-8am) for 3 nights (30 hours for the week) over 7 days.

As our Night Worker, you will be…

  • working alone for the entirety of your shift
  • working 10pm-8am
  • ensuring the building and its residents are safe and secure outside of normal office hours
  • responsible for the overnight security and routine checks of the Scheme
  • undertaking Health & Safety inspections
  • checking regularly essential systems such as the Fire Alarm, CCTV and door entry systems
  • ensuring escalation/reporting of faults found to our contractors for resolution
  • cleaning communal areas within the building
  • the first point of contact for customers and visitors during your shift

This role is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated activity under Part 1 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.  Therefore, a Basic DBS Check for a regulated activity is an essential requirement.
