What’s the role?

Due to an internal move, Your Housing Group has a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Move On Officer in Young Peoples Services.

You will be based at Coops Foyer in Wigan (WN1), supporting young people living independently across the Wigan borough. 

You will be working 35 hours per week, between 8am and 8pm, on a rota basis.

What will I be responsible for?

As Move On Officer, you be responsible for preparing our Foyer residents to move into independent accommodation by delivering the Move On programme to develop life skills ensure tenancy readiness. You will build and maintain relationships with local housing providers to help source move on accommodation for our young people and supporting them through the transition. You will then provide a floating support service to help support a caseload of young people to sustain their tenancies in the community.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and will require the post holder to carry out ‘Regulated Activity’ as defined under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. Therefore, as part of Your Housing Group’s pre-employment checks, successful applicants will be required to complete a satisfactory Enhanced DBS with barred list(s) check.
