This is an exciting opportunity for a Money Advice Triage Officer to join our small and supportive Money Advice Team.
Our Money Advice Team provide a lifeline to many of our customers - we have recently expanded our Money Advice Team numbers and this role is s fundamental part of the team, ensuring we support our customers according to the priority of their needs. We are looking for someone who has experience of offering welfare benefit advice, someone who is passionate about our customer’s financial & emotional wellbeing and someone who can give great advice to ensure customers maximise their income and in turn, sustain their tenancies.
What will my working week look like?
You will work 35 hours per week Monday – Friday. There is some flexibility around the hours you will work but we would expect most of the hours to be completed between 8am – 6pm, which is the usual hours or operation for our Money Advice Team.
You will be homebased, living in Warrington to be a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses. You’ll be required to visit our Head Office approximately 4 times a month.
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will be responsible for triaging referrals into the Money Advice team. As the first point of contact for the team, you will assist with low level benefit enquiries from customers and the income team and assign more complex cases to the Money Advice Officers. You may also be required to assist with managing debts and signposting customers to appropriate agencies.

Operating as part of YHGs specialist Money Advice Team, this role will also involve collaborative working with Money Advice Officers, colleagues in the Income and Housing Management Teams, DWP and Local Authority partners. The post also involves administrative support duties and assisting our Tenancy Onboarding Officer with pre-affordability checks.

- experience of effectively managing a customer caseload
- experience of resolving benefit and debt queries
- experience in a similar advisory role, be undertaking or have completed a money advice qualification
