Job Introduction

So…. What is this role exactly?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Materials Manager to join our dedicated and motivated inhouse contractor Fix360 and make a huge impact in shaping the way we deliver, monitor and manage our materials supply chain, in a brand new role that also offers fantastic homeworking and flexibility.

It’s a great time to join Fix360 as our Materials Manager as we have now successfully completed several large transformation pieces that have led to the requirement for this role. This includes the installation of a brand-new, state of the art smart van stock system, the induction of a new major materials supplier and the successful integration of a new dynamic scheduling system that will enable us to now move to a new “delivered service”. The Materials Manager will be instrumental in ensuring that our contract suppliers, framework provider and Fix 360s internal repairs and maintenance teams can maximise on the value and benefits this new service can bring to the business ensuring it is fit for purpose and future proofed for our repair’s teams and our customers.

We are looking for someone who really wants to make this role their own, not just managing the day-to-day contract management of our materials suppliers but also keen to drive our supply chain forward by delivering high performance and high compliance standards, initiating best practice and most importantly utilising smart data to influence and inform on business decisions.

And who are Your Housing Group?

If you live in the Northwest, you may have heard of Your Housing Group and know us as a Housing Association, but really, there’s a lot more to YHG that make it a great place to work!

We are a partner to Homes England and one of the North’s sector-leading landlords, reinvesting in our 29K properties and building 1,000 new homes each year. We also provide a wide range of housing solutions to support vulnerable adults, vulnerable children, and provide a wide range of extra support services.  We pride ourselves on helping people at every stage of life to live in quality homes they can afford and place safety at the heart of all that we do - for customers, colleagues, and our supply chain. Fix 360 play a fundamental part in delivering this!

We’re an employer of choice, 88% of colleagues recommend us as a 'great place to work'

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be responsible for the day-to-day contract management and performance of Fix360s materials external supplier relationships and will manage, monitor, and report on the performance of materials, equipment, and waste goods.

One of the great things about this role is not only have we invested heavily in the above systems and partnered with new suppliers, but our workforce is invested and engaged in this change, and ready for the Materials Manager to get this up and running throughout the teams.

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

To be recognised as our SME for Materials you will need strong experience of managing relationships with Group frameworks, internal stakeholders and external materials and waste suppliers, to ensure that materials and equipment are delivered where and when they are needed, waste is managed, and shrinkage accounted for.

Data will play a huge part in improving information and shaping change in this role and is embedded into Fix360s 5-year strategy, so strong data analysis experience, including the ability to manipulate and interpret data to forecast future requirements and produce reports that clearly present complex data to a range of audiences will be key for this role.

Ideally you will be a strong relationship builder with a high level of gravitas, able to communicate at all levels and motivate, influence and challenge Contract Managers, Supervisors and Operatives when needed, whether around material compliance, performance, or waste on Fix360s Behalf.

This role is really suited to someone that likes to have a high level of autonomy in their role, and champions “right first time”. Driven and passionate about technology and data and how that can be used to improve performance, reduce costs, and add value for money.

That’s all sounds great.... What’s in it for me?

In return we offer a salary of £45,000 – £55,000 for a 40-hour week, and 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, but our benefits are far more than a competitive salary and holiday allowance.

We offer a fantastic flexible, home working culture where you are measured on your outputs. So, whether you need time for an appointment, the school run or an exercise class, if it fits with what the business needs from your role, talk to your manager, we are open to what works for you too! When you want those social interactions with your team or have supplier meetings to arrange, we have a state-of-the-art collaboration space based in Warrington, which you’ll also need to visit for team days, meetings and training when requested. (so you will need to be within a realistic commutable distance to Warrington)

We also provide a great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you contribute (up to 3%), an advanced level Healthcare cash plan that doesn’t just provide dental and optician cashback, but also health and wellbeing benefits (such as 24/7 GP Access and alternative therapy treatments) and an amazing discount scheme that gives half price cinema tickets, subsidised gym memberships and a huge range of discounts with some of the biggest high street and online names.

So, if you are a Materials Manager ready for a new challenge in a role you can really make an impact in and help shape the change, then we would love to hear from you! YHG3
