Salary: £21,000

Job Location: Chester 

Contract Duration: Permanent 

Hours (weekly):  35 (Monday to Friday)

Your Housing Group has an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Support Officer, based at Bridge Foyer in Chester (CH1 4JR).  Bridge Foyer offers a safe environment that provides young people with accommodation and gives them the chance to access training and employment opportunities under one roof.  That’s where you come in!

As a Learning & Support Officer, you will be working with young people aged 16-25yrs old who have been at risk of or are experiencing homelessness.  You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the learning programme and maintaining appropriate records to meet monitoring and impact requirements.  You will also develop links with partner agencies to complement the learning programme providing additional development opportunities for young people, therefore excellent relationship building skills are essential.

You will also provide ongoing support to young people in preparing and following a personal action plan, ensuring that Young People’s Services achieves its objective of preparing young people for independent living and achieving their aspirations.

If you have……

  • knowledge of creating risk assessments for learning programme sessions
  • knowledge of designing and delivering varied learning programmes that meet the needs of young people
  • good interpersonal and communication skills

This role is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated activity under Part 1 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.  Therefore, a DBS ENHANCED (including Adult/Child Barred List) check for a regulated activity is an essential requirement.
