So…. What is this role exactly?
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning & Development Business Partner to join our in-house team of specialists, where you’ll be partnering with our Housing and Customer Services functions. You’ll also have the opportunity to lead on and be heavily involved in a number of critical projects, such as the roll out of our Talent and Apprenticeship strategies.

We are looking for someone with a passion for developing people to be their very best, and a keen creative eye for doing things differently. A tech-savvy Business Partner, ideally with knowledge of the Housing sector or experience working with customer facing business areas.
What will my working week look like?
You will be homebased, living within the North West, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses.
Your working week is mostly designed by you - our Work Life Mix offers you a flexible approach focused on delivering outputs. In the role of Learning & Development Business Partner, you’ll deliver/ attend both face to face and remote events, to meet the demands of your customers, often finding yourself in our Youggle House a couple of times a week, but rarely for the full day.
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will be responsible for partnering with our Housing and Customer Services functions. You’ll have a strong focus on the further ‘professionalisation’ of these high-performing teams – which is a key output of the Housing White Paper.
One of the great things about this role is the ability to get involved with a breadth of Learning and Development opportunities.
You’ll be involved in designing, procuring, delivering and evaluating learning and development activity, in a variety of new and traditional ways, as well as getting involved in talent management, careers and apprenticeships and Diversity & Inclusion.

To be a successful as Learning and Development Business Partner, here at YHG, you will have….
- experience of operating in a Business Partner capacity
- considerable end to end Learning & Development experience, including the ability to understand business need, develop / interpret strategy to create proven learning interventions that stick
- experience of digital content creation and curating
- experience of employee engagement
- demonstrable experience in the design, evaluation and delivery of talent pipelines, from functional management training to leadership development
Ideally you will ……
- be CIPD qualified or equivalent
- have the ability to take ownership and deliver outputs with minimum supervision
- have a passion for new ways of delivering Learning & Development in a tech-enabled environment
