Job Title:                   Internal Controls Specialist

Salary Banding:       Circa £23,500

Job Location:           Homebased North West

Contract Duration:  12 Months FTC

Hours (weekly):     21 hours (flexible Monday to Friday)

So…. What is this role exactly?

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Internal Controls Specialist or for candidates that have some transferrable experience of Internal audit processes to join Your Housing Group for a minimum of 12 months, and make a real impact in shaping best practice

We are looking for someone that is genuinely passionate about making a significant, proactive contribution within a business, towards the development of robust, Internal controls throughout several departments and enable right first time.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be responsible for the review, delivery, and maintenance of the Internal Controls Frameworks, here at YHG, and will ensure improvements needed are identified, designed, and then implemented as best practice throughout the divisions you support, providing assurance to Senior leaders that robust processes are in place.

You will be highly visible and will work right across the wider business to design and execute a risk-based assurance plan, advising and supporting both senior stakeholders and colleagues on internal control, during periods of change or where new processes are being developed.

One of the great things about this position is that as this is a new role for us, you will have a high level of scope and autonomy to enable real change in developing these effective processes and will be supported by and work in partnership with our wider Risk and Assurance Team and the Groups internal audit provider.

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

To be a successful as our Internal Controls Specialist, here at YHG, you will need experience and knowledge of internal controls, audit, risk and compliance. Ideally, also able to bring with you a high level of understanding of assurance activities (i.e. 3LOD) and in improving internal control frameworks through effective process review, improvement and implementation.

This role is really suited to someone who likes to work with a wide range of departments and Senior stakeholders as a critical friend, to implement robust controls processes, and shape positive change and improvement to mitigate risk.
