We have recently secured Strategic Partner status with Homes England and we plan to continue to invest substantially in both the development of new homes and into our existing properties over the next 5 years, and budget has already been secured for these major programmes of work.

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a Head of Commercial to lead an established team of Quantity Surveyors during exciting times at YHG.

In the role will lead all Commercial & Contractual functions within Your Housing Group’s Asset Management Team; assisting in the development and delivery of the Investment Programme strategy, growth and improved financial performance (Net Present Value) of YHG’s properties.

You will provide Commercial and Contractual management of the ‘Major Projects’ from initial scoping to commissioning handover and release of any contractor retention.

Although not essential, ideally you will have knowledge and experience of working in the housing industry; either inhouse or with a main contractor.  You will also be/have:

  • Chartered within in a property/building related specialism MCIOB (Member Chartered Institute of Builders), MRICS, (Member Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience of leading and managing commercial management teams to high levels of performance.
  • Experience of managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge and track record in property investment planning, procurement and commercial cost management.
  • Strong knowledge of building legislation and maintenance management best practice.
