Here at Your Housing Group we currently have a new opportunity for a Group Financial Controller to join the business and head up a number of teams within our well established, yet evolving finance function.
We are keen to appoint a Group Financial Controller that relishes having both a high level of autonomy, and the opportunity to work operationally with the teams within your remit to really own the numbers. An effective communicator and leader, you will have primary responsibility and full oversight of all accounting activities and financial transactions for Your Housing Group (statutory and management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, tax and financial regulatory compliance), enabling the delivery of all financial reporting to be on time and consistently to deadline. As Group Financial Controller you will also champion the delivery of value for money metrics and ensure confidence in financial reporting through robust financial controls.
The role of Group Financial Controller forms part of Your Housing Group’s Senior Finance Team and will not only see you deputise for the Group Finance Director when needed, but will also offer further areas of senior responsibility including; Acting as YHGs Money Laundering Officer, operating as the main point of contact for external auditing bodies and taking a lead role in the delivery of future transformational change projects to further automate YHGs financial systems. Due to this, knowledge of the latest Accounting Standards including the Housing SORP, along with sector specific regulatory reporting experience would be highly advantageous.
As Group Financial Controller you will need to have a keen future focus, be able to identify and implement both operational and policy improvements whilst ensuring these are adopted throughout the finance function as best practice. Ideally you will also be an inspirational developer of people, with a genuine desire to further the skills and experience of the employees within your teams through effective communication, mentorship, training and career progression opportunities.
Due to the level of responsibility with this role, we are keen to hear from fully Chartered Finance Professionals (ACA/CA) operating at a senior level within Finance that have significant experience of the Social Housing sector, and can demonstrate a strong operational bias and great leadership skills.

Although the role offers permanent homeworking, you will need to be comfortable commuting to the Head office in Warrington, Cheshire when required.
