Fire Safety Manager

Salary Banding:           £51,000 - £55,000

Job Location:               North West

Contract Duration:      Permanent

Hours (weekly):           35 (Monday to Friday)

What’s the role?

Due to an internal move, we have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Safety Manager to join the Compliance Team as the strategic lead and SME for all things fire safety.

You will be predominantly homebased living within the North West and a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office/Collaboration Hub in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings, 121’s and training when required. You will also need to be able to travel to various site locations across the North West as required.

What will I be responsible for doing?

As our Fire Safety Manager, you will have operational responsibility for the management of the Group’s programme of Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Precaution Works, ensuring works are delivered on time, to budget and in line with our statutory obligations.

You will lead on reviews of Fire Safety policies, strategies and operating procedures, ensuring effective and appropriate translation into practical application through the active promotion of Fire Safety to colleagues and customers.

You will prepare detailed fire safety performance reports, identify key themes, trends and issues and use to inform/drive future improvements.

As the Fire Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the managing the Primary Authority Partnership, work closely with a number of local Fire & Rescue Services, and actively engage customers in fire safety initiatives.

It’s a given you’ll be a key member of the Compliance Management Team working closely with senior colleagues contributing to the overall management of statutory compliance. You will also work with the Building Safety Team in the delivery of the Group’s response to the Building Safety agenda.

What would make me stand out from the crowd?

You will have Fire Safety management experience within a Social Housing environment, with a successful track record of managing all aspects of Fire Risk Assessment programmes and Fire Precaution Works, including contractor management, performance monitoring and budget management.

Your experience will be supported by in depth knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, PAS 79, Building Safety Bill and Fire Safety Act as well a relevant professional qualification.

Due to the Group’s stock profile, we are ideally look for someone with experience in delivery fire safety works within Supported/Extra Care and High Rise living environments.

You’ll be demonstrably customer focused and capable of managing positive stakeholder relationships, supported by excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to produce, well-structed documents.
