So…. What is this role exactly?

Your Housing Group are undertaking a wide-ranging Technology programme including implementation of our data strategy and a digital transformation programme.  This will allow us to switch from legacy applications to a range of new technologies enabling a strategic channel shift and we’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our well established, multi-disciplined DevOps team.

You will be homebased, living within the North-West, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with a genuine passion for the end-to-end DevOps process, who is keen to help us deliver against our project portfolio.

What will my working week look like? 

You’ll be required to visit our Head Office in Warrington approximately 3 or 4 times a month, but this can vary week by week and you can have some influence on the frequency.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will have responsibility for managing and continuing to develop and extend our CI/CD pipelines to streamline our build, release and deployment systems and processes.

You will be working with delivery teams and 3rd parties on multiple concurrent projects implementing applications infrastructure, deploying and configuring solutions in Azure and creating automated deployment processes.

As the DevOps Engineer, you will have an active part in continuously improving team culture as part of the corporate agile / DevOps vision, whilst helping to deliver measurable value and iterative products as part of our Digital Transformation

To be a successful here at YHG, you will have substantial previous experience of working as a DevOps Engineer within a team using an agile methodology. You will have led on developing and managing CI/CD pipelines, automating services and streamlining processes using a range of services from the Azure stack.

Ideally you will be a collaborative team player with a genuine desire to continually improve both yourself and your team.

This role is really suited to someone who likes to positively contribute to the success of the wider IT team with a personable outlook, an individual who can represent IT in the best possible light to our customers.
