Court Officer

Job Introduction

Role:  Court Officer – YHG/TP/10797/457

Salary:  £22,400-£28,140 per annum, (pro-rata)

Location:  Agile, with the ability to cover various locations within Staffordshire

Duration:  Permanent

Hours:  21 hours per week – days to be agreed

Tier:  5R

What are we looking for? We are looking for a flexible & outcome driven Court Officer who is ambitious and resilient with a proven ability to deliver excellent customer service. 

The role works closely with the Central Income team based in Preston and predominantly covers Staffordshire, with some cover of Crewe, Cheshire. 

Therefore it’s likely you will be based in or around the Staffordshire area.  Due to the geographical spread of this role, the ability to drive (with access to a reliable vehicle) will enable you to travel around the area to fulfil the role requirements – please review the attached role profile to get a clearer understanding of the role.

As stated above, the location of this role is ‘agile’ – but what does that mean?  It means this role isn’t based at a specific office location and that the hours of work can be flexible in order to meet the needs of the business and our customers

How will we prepare you for this role and way of working? Successful applicants will undertake a robust induction programme, covering crucial areas for success such as negotiation techniques and maximising income/debt recovery.

Who are we looking for? Ideally, you will have experience of providing representation at court & a have a social housing background.   You will:                                                                       

  • Be experienced in attending & preparing for rent possession cases at County Court & Eviction.
  • Be a strong communicator with a high level of attention to detail and enjoy working as part of a fast paced team
  • Be a highly skilled negotiator with experience of dealing with difficult customers
  • Target and deadline driven, with a demonstrable passion to provide great customer service
