Job Title:                         Asset Accountant

Salary Banding:            £38,000 – £42,000

Job Location:                 Homebased 1

Contract Duration:       12 months Fixed Term Contract

Hours (weekly):            35 (Monday to Friday)

Grade:               E

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Asset Account, to join our medium sized Finance Team, on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.   Although this is a homebased role, our head office is in Birchwood, Warrington, you’ll need to live within a reasonable travelling distance to be able to attend meetings and training when required.

As an Asset Accountant, you will support the existing Asset Account with the preparation of the monthly management accounts and maintaining the Group’s fixed asset register; reviewing and designing control account reconciliations; reviewing and approving journals in relation to tangible and intangible assets; ensuring all financial controls are adhered to. 

A significant part of the role will concentrate on the improvement and development of fixed asset systems and processes, as well as writing and updating company accounting policies.  In addition to this, you will play a major part in the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements, supporting the group accountant with disclosures relating to fixed assets, inventories and investments.

You will be used to working part of a team, with the ability to work on your own initiative, to ensure tasks are completed to tight deadlines. You will also have experience working accurately whilst under pressure and completing tasks right first time.

We're looking for... 

  • a fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA Accountant
  • previous exposure to the accounting of both tangible and intangible assets 
  • advanced level Excel skills
  • a strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills

Are you an experienced, fully qualified accountant, with Fixed Asset experience within a large asset-based business? Are you looking for a brand new opportunity, where you can develop your skills and widen your experience?

Your Housing Group has a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Asset Account, to join our medium sized Finance Team, on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. A lot can happen in 12 months.  There's the possibility the role might become permanent or there might be other opportunities for you within Finance.

You'll be homebased living in the North West, as our head office is in Birchwood, Warrington, you’ll live within a reasonable travelling distance to be able to attend meetings and training, when required.
