Are you a Chartered Quantity Surveyor looking for a varied role with a high level of autonomy, and significant investment pieces you can lead on?

Your Housing Group is growing and evolving, we have recently been named a strategic partner to Homes England making it a great time to come and get involved. Additionally, the Board has agreed to significant investment into the asset base over the next 10 years. This increase in investment means there are some fantastic multi-team projects on the horizon within our asset management function and due to this we now have a new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join YHG. This role would be our absolute subject matter expert for quantity surveying processes and practices for our Asset Management Team.

As our Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead all Commercial & Contractual functions within our Asset Management Team and will be instrumental in assisting in the development and delivery of the Investment Programme delivery strategy, and commercial and financial performance of key contractors delivering the programme.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will also have full commercial and contractual management of a number of high profile major investment projects, from initial scoping and commissioning, through to handover and release of any contractor retention. You will also have the scope to recruit a small team of Quantity Surveyors which will report directly to you and become part of our Commercial Investment team for Asset Management.

A Chartered professional within a relevant profession (MRICS, MCIOB) you will have a proven background within Property or Housing investment planning, procurement and commercial cost management of construction contracts. A competent problem solver, you will be flexible, adaptable and able to respond to situations creatively. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will also need to be an effective relationship builder, able to both collaborate with and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and partners to deliver projects on time and to budget, whilst ensuring risk is limited.
