Job Title:                    Senior Major Works Programme Manager - Property

Salary Banding:         circa £60,000 plus car allowance

Hours (weekly):         35 (Monday to Friday)          

Are you an experienced Project Manager, looking for your next opportunity? Do you enjoy seeing complex projects from design through to completion?  Do you have strong building pathology knowledge and a social housing background?

Your Housing Group has in excess of 28,000 homes, ranging from social and affordable rentals, through to retirement living developments and innovative private rental offers and we will be investing substantially in both the development of new homes and into our existing properties over the next 5 years and we have recently secured Strategic Partner status with Homes England.

We have identified a number of our complex buildings where we are going to design, procure and deliver significant investment works that will improve our customer’s homes.  With two schemes on site and a further three in design and procurement stage, we have £50m of works to deliver now and at least a further £50m over the next 5 years.  To support the staff in already in place and provide additional resource to deliver some of the projects in this programme we have a brand new role of Senior Major Works Programme Manager (Property), who will be responsible for the overall delivery of this budget and the individual contracts.   

As a Senior Major Works Programme Manager (Property), it’s a given, you will be an experienced social housing professional, having previously working on similar programmes that focus on the improvement of large and complex buildings. 

In addition to your technical expertise/qualifications, you will be used to rolling your sleeves up and getting your hands dirty whilst balancing  programme governance and control.

As a Senior Major Works Programme Manager (Property), you will be an excellent communicator, keeping customer’s up to date and supporting them through periods of unavoidable disruption.  We know that takes a special person – we hope that’s you!   You will also be able to utilise your leadership skills to lead, develop and mentor a small YHG team, lead a team of consultants, in addition to working across/supporting other functions within the Group.
