Job Title:  Scheme Manager

Salary Banding:  £22,400 - £25,500 per annum

Job Location:  Handforth, Cheshire

Contract Duration:  Permanent

Hours (weekly):  35 (Monday-Friday)

Your Housing Group has over 28,000 homes across the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands, and a large portfolio of retirement living developments - we now have an exciting opportunity for a Retirement Living Services (RLS) Scheme Manager based at our over 55’s 53 apartment Retirement Living Village at Oakmere, Handforth, Cheshire, SK9 3NS).

Oakmere is not a care home/nursing home environment.  Tenants and leaseholders within the scheme are able to maintain an independent lifestyle and as their Scheme Manager you will provide support and advice to all customers, maintaining the friendly community atmosphere we have within Oakmere.

You’ll have great communication skills and be a true “people person”, you will also be commercially minded and always on the lookout for opportunities to improve and enhance YHG’s service to our customers.

You will utilise your previous people management skills, managing a team that provide housing and related services, you will signpost and liaise with customers and their families, and work in partnership with external agencies to ensure customers’ needs are always met.

In the rewarding, non-residential role of RLS Scheme Manager, you will………

  • deliver an excellent customer service which meets/exceeds expectations
  • oversee the delivery of high-quality housing and facilities management
  • ensure excellent customer service is achieved
  • ensure all activity is reflective of older people’s aspirations and supports the achievement of Your Housing Group’s vision.
  • have previous experience within older people’s housing services or managing scheme of a similar size
  • have demonstrable knowledge of managing performance, housing legislation and housing management principles.

This role is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated activity under Part 1 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.  Therefore, a DBS ENHANCED (including Adult/Child Barred List) check for a regulated activity is an essential requirement.
