We have recently secured Strategic Partner status with Homes England and we plan to continue to invest substantially in both the development of new homes and into our existing properties over the next 5 years, and budget has already been secured for these major programmes of work.

We are currently looking for a Procurement Officer to join an established and dynamic team; who will manage several direct procurement categories related to Asset, based on Your Housing Group’s approach to procurement

In the role you will lead associated sourcing activities to ensure efficient and effective contracts are established which deliver best value, drive performance and achieve the required quality to support the aims and objectives of the business.  In your role of Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of the category (Asset) procurement plan, as determined by the Head of Category. This will include: ensuring contracts are procured well-ahead of expiry, ensuring compliance with the PCR 2015, ensuring compliance with YHG’s Operational Standing Orders (OSOs), ensuring savings are identified and realised, ensuring contract documentation is signed and recorded on the Group Contract Register, ensuring any procurement projects managed are delivered to timeframes agreed with stakeholders.

Although not essential, ideally you will have knowledge and experience of working in the public sector.  You will also be/have:

  • Procurement experience with a wide coverage of categories
  • Experience of working in a complex and changing environment
  • Experience of supplier selection, negotiation and contract management, delivering cost savings and process efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of EU (European Union) Procurement Legislation.
  • Good working knowledge of contract law
  • Strong communication skills
