Out of Hours Shift Worker

Job Introduction

Role:  Out of Hours Shift Worker – Ref YHG/TP/66/310

Salary:  £9 per hour, plus excellent benefits

Location:  Verve Place, Warrington

Duration:  Permanent

Hours:  37.5 per week, working 7.45pm – 8.15am shifts Monday to Sunday and/or Saturday & Sunday 7.45am – 8.15pm on a 3 week rota

What do we do?  Young Peoples Services provides accommodation, support and learning opportunities to young people aged 16-25.  As we operate 24 hours a day, the Out of Hours Shift Worker ensures the building and residents are safe and secure outside normal office hours.  In addition to supporting the residents, you will be responsible for taking safe receipt of payments received for rent, overnight guests and any recharges whilst on shift.

The role is based at Verve Place, Warrington, working on a 3 week rota basis, so you’ll know when you will be working.  The pre-arranged shifts you could be working include Night Shifts (7.45pm-8.15am) during the week, or if it’s the weekend, it could be the Night Shift (7.45pm-8.15am) or the Day Shift (7.45am-8.15pm).

We are looking for you to be able to relate to young people, work unsupervised, using your own initiative.  As in any lone worker role, the ability to deal with emergency situations is essential, as is a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.  Please review the attached Role Profile to better understand the role and key responsibilities of this interesting role.

This role is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated activity under Part 1 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.  Therefore a DBS ENHANCED including Child Barred List check for a regulated activity is an essential requirement.
