This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a new generation of housing provider. At Your Housing Group we’re now seeking a new Non-Executive Board Member. Board level experience would be beneficial, but what matters most is knowledge and experience of Housing and the Regulated environment gained at a strategic level.

Building quality homes for all kinds of people, we are playing a growing part in solving the UK housing crisis as an appointed Strategic Partner to Homes England, making it a great time to get involved with the business. As a Non-Executive Director, you’ll be instrumental in setting our strategic direction.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to continue to build and maintain as many quality houses as possible, to be a great landlord and keep everyone safe. We’re not-for-profit, but our financial position is viable and secure giving us a firm foundation on which to continue to build and grow.

We help people to live independently, so offering choice is central to our approach. Our 25,000+ portfolio spans properties for social and affordable rent, retirement living developments, and innovative private rental offers. Quality is key to all we do - both in design and build, and across the services we offer. Our large and diverse portfolio spans the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands.

Pioneering and creative people are at the heart of our success, even more so in these challenging times. As a business that has always championed flexible working and wellbeing and led the way in digital services, we have further embraced and invested in new technologies, digital services and new ways of working to allow more of our staff to work flexibly, from home. Our Executive and Non-Executive Directors are no exception to this, with many of our Executive and Board level meetings now being successfully conducted via Microsoft teams.

As a Non-Executive Director, you will embrace these new ways of working which will allow you to work closely and collaboratively with other Board Members to develop strategy and ensure compliance. Your Housing Group is doing things differently and that’s why we want to make sure our Board represents all kinds of backgrounds and perspectives. Right now, we are particularly keen to hear from an experienced senior leader that ideally possesses experience of Housing and the regulated environment.

We will expect you to bring a fresh viewpoint and ideas which help us to buck trends and influence what a housing provider can do. Previous experience of serving on a board will be beneficial, but what matters is that you share our passion for what we do, and our entrepreneurial spirit.

If you can commit around three days a month for Board meetings and to act as an ambassador for Your Housing Group, you can create a whole new strand to your professional legacy as a Non-Executive Director and make a real contribution to the strategic decisions made here at the highest level.

In addition to the above you will embrace the culture of continuous improvement to support Value for Money throughout the organisation and have a passion for doing things right first time.

Prior to completing your application, please review the attached Role Description to better understand the role and key responsibilities.

Closing date: 29th October 2020

Should we receive a high number of applications, we may close this vacancy earlier than the date indicated above, therefore, you are encouraged to submit your application as soon as possible.

Your Housing Group values diversity and encourages applications from all communities. Your Housing Group operates a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for tenants or anyone who resides in a Your Housing Group property.  It also operates the scheme for any applicants who declare they have a disability. Those applicants who meet the minimum requirements for the role as set out in the role profile will be guaranteed an interview.  Some roles may be subject to probity checks which will override the scheme where a potential conflict of interest or a probity matter has been identified.
