Salary Banding: £42,000 - £55,500 per annum

Job Location: Birchwood, Warrington

Contract Duration: Permanent

Hours (weekly): 35 (Monday to Friday)

There’s a lot of great things happening at Your Housing Group making it a good time to join the business and get involved. We are currently implementing significant investment into Digital and Organisational transformation and our ICT Team is growing and evolving significantly.

As part of this growth and investment, our Infrastructure team has recently completed a large-scale transformation project and we are continuing to decommission our legacy network infrastructure in favour of new enterprise level systems.

Due to this, we now have an opportunity for a capable Network Engineer to join our collaborative ICT function to maintain and develop the network infrastructure at YHG encompassing Cisco firewall, switching and Meraki Cloud technologies.

As our Senior Network Engineer, you will help shape further change for the business and play a key role in upgrading networks across the group with projects such as On-Domain Wi-Fi implementation, and work with our technical partner in the configuration of our new Nexus and Catalyst systems, so there’s a lot of significant network projects here at YHG to keep you challenged, interested, and further develop your experience.

Ideally you will be a time-served CCNA, certified (Routing & Switching or Security preferred), and either working towards or wanting to work towards CCNP. You will also have some experience of working at a high level of autonomy supervising, mentoring and collaborating with other Network Engineers on major projects.

If you have a majority of the following experience, we would really like to hear from you:

  • Time-served Cisco Certified Network Associate and working towards CCNP
  • Implementing, supporting and managing LAN, WAN and secure wireless network environments
  • Resolving technical problems in accordance with policies & processes
  • Responsible for a network technical maintenance programme, resolving failures in hardware and software and ensuring appropriate “housekeeping” tasks are implemented
  • Enterprise level firewalls and network security applications/appliances
  • Working knowledge of AD, DHCP, TCP/IP and DNS configuration and all relevant protocols
  • Ability to maintain and support VoIP Telephony systems from a networking perspective
  • Assisting in the delivery of ICT infrastructure projects to deliver the required solution, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place and that the solution is handed over to the Service Desk
  • Working knowledge of change control methodologies and the production & maintenance of technical documentation in a timely and accurate manner for implemented changes
  • Design and plan for releases & major upgrades applying suitable test methodologies as required
  • Being a point of escalation for network related issues escalated from Service Desk
  • Work with 3rd party support and delivery partners, ensuring that they work to the Group’s internal standards and procedures.

In return, we offer our Senior Network Engineer a competitive salary of £42,000 - £55,500 dependent on experience.
