Salary Banding: £70,000 - £80,000

Job Location: Home working

Contract Duration:  Permanent

Hours (weekly): 35 hours

Due to this, we are now looking to appoint a Head of Resident Building Safety.

This partnership means there are some fantastic multi-team programmes on the horizon including further new homes development, construction projects, established asset investment and planned works as we continue grow our portfolio and upgrade our existing portfolio of assets.

The Head of Resident Safety is a brand-new role here at YHG, and offers a unique opportunity to make a huge impact in shaping the change within Building Safety throughout the full project lifecycle of property, lead on all aspects of safety across our assets and act as the guardian of resident and building safety for the Group.

The role of Head of Resident Building Safety comes with the highest level of autonomy. Reporting into the Director of Property and Building Safety, you will have full accountability for the design, development and effective communication throughout the business of our resident building safety strategy (ensuring it is both agile in response to requirements and fit for purpose). The development of this strategy will have a major impact on how we interact with our customers and develop best in class residential building safety standards.

As Head of Resident Building Safety, you not only have the opportunity to design the safety policies and processes required to take new legislation through the business as best practice, but also to build a team around you, appoint and partner with consultants where needed to develop property and risk methodologies and manage this through to business as usual. You genuinely will be seen as our subject matter expert on residential building safety and the critical link between our Board, Directors, staff and internal/external stakeholders, providing assurances on the safety of our residents and buildings.

A keen influencer and facilitator, you will be visible and able to give clear direction, identify gaps in process, and create and roll out effective solutions, yet also strategically minded, able to assess the wider picture, identify shifts in safety requirements and limit risk within both legacy and new development projects. Ideally you will also be a confident relationship builder and communicator keen to collaborate effectively with other senior leaders and their teams within Assets, Health & Safety, Development, Facilities and Compliance.

To be successful in this role and due to its high level of importance to the business, you will need a strong understanding of risk management within buildings (which is likely to include of fire safety) at a Senior level, within a similarly complex and regulated company to our own. We would expect the Head of Resident Building Safety to be educated to degree level or hold a relevant equivalent membership (RICS, RIBA, MCIOB)

Along with the unprecedented opportunity this role can offer, our Head of Resident Building Safety will be provided with a competitive salary of £70,000 - £80,000, plus 9/10% car allowance.
